Ferdinand Möhring succeeds Jörg Colberg

MSC Gate Bremerhaven under new management

 

Following Jörg Colberg’s move to the Management Board of Gesamthafenbetriebsverein Bremen/Bremerhaven, Ferdinand Möhring has taken over as Managing Director of MSC Gate Bremerhaven Container Terminal with effect from 1 August 2017. Ferdinand Möhring spent 11 years at sea and has been in the container business for almost 30 years. He has a high level of competence in container shipping and logistics.

Before being assigned management responsibility for MSC Gate Bremerhaven Container Terminal, Ferdinand Möhring (56), a graduate navigating officer, worked for 29 years in various positions with EUROGATE shareholder BLG Logistics Group. He started his career at BLG Logistics Group in 1988 as a ship planner in the Container division of BLG in Bremerhaven. After advancing to Manager Operations and General Manager Sales, he moved to Autoterminal Bremerhaven in 1999, which he ran first as general manager and then from 2009 to 2012 as managing director. From 2013, he held positions in the areas of corporate strategy and sustainability. Among other things, he was responsible for BLG Logistics Group’s wind energy segment and general cargo business. On 1 August 2017, he assumed responsibility for MSC Gate Container Terminal in Bremerhaven as sole managing director.

Ferdinand Möhring has a degree from the Nautical Science faculty of the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen.
